New advances in dentistry allow you to restore your smile with the All-on-4® prosthetic, eliminating the need for uncomfortable, slipping dentures that keep you from enjoying the foods you love.

At Mosaic Maxillofacial Surgical Arts & Implant Centers in Clearwater, FL, we recommend the All-on-4® prosthetic as one of the best options to restore your missing teeth in a way that looks and feels natural. When properly maintained, you can enjoy the benefits of All-on-4® for years to come.

What Is the All-on-4® Prosthetic?

The All-on-4® dental prosthetic is a revolutionary technique that restores the function of missing teeth without the everyday hassles of regular dentures. All-on-4® dental implants replace the entire upper or lower arch of your teeth (or both) with four titanium dental implants per arch. We place the implants into the jaw’s thickest areas to reduce the need for bone grafting, allowing more patients to access this solution, even if they have experienced bone loss.

Patients prefer the All-on-4® prosthetic to traditional dentures as it improves their appearance, provides them with fully functioning tooth replacements, allows them to chew and speak more easily, and eliminates bone loss and other health issues associated with dentures.

How Long Does the All-on-4® Prosthetic Last?

There are two main parts to the All-on-4® prosthetic: the titanium implants we surgically place in the jaw and the dentures that attach to those implants.

Dentures experience normal wear and tear and typically require replacement every ten to fifteen years. However, your implants are a permanent solution and may last up to 10 years or more with proper oral health.

How to Extend the Life of Your All-on-4® Prosthetic

The lifespan of your All-on-4® prosthetic depends significantly on your oral hygiene. To maintain the health of your implants and denture piece, we recommend the following habits:

  • Visit your dentist for regular cleanings at least every six months
  • Brush and floss regularly
  • Avoid using your teeth as tools (i.e., to open packages or bottles)
  • Limit consuming especially hard, sticky, or crunchy foods
  • Use a custom night guard to protect your implants

Bruxism is a tendency to grind or clench your teeth. We advise treating bruxism before receiving your All-on-4® prosthetic and using a night guard for any lingering issues.

What Is the Process for Replacing Your Prosthetic?

We can easily replace the dentures or prosthetics of your All-on-4®. We can easily replace the dentures or prosthetics of your All-on-4®. During your regular dental appointment, your dentist will identify the need for a new device based on the level of wear in your current dentures. Then, your dentist will coordinate directly with Mosaic so that we can attach a new prosthetic.

Before your appointment, our surgeons will work with a prosthodontist to fabricate your new dentures in time for your replacement. As long as you maintain regular oral hygiene and regular dental visits, the 4 titanium posts fused in your jawbone will remain healthy – providing a permanent foundation for either replacement dentures or prosthetics up to 10 to 15 years apart.
